Best known for originating the role of Captain Beverley Bass in Broadway’s Come From Away and most recently starring as Carrie Chapman Catt in SUFFS, Colella has spent more than two decades making her mark on Broadway. In Come As You Are, she steps out from behind the characters to share the songs, stories, people, mishaps, and moments that have shaped her life and career.

Jenn Colella is a Tony Award-nominated and Grammy Award-winning actress, singer, and educator best known for originating the role of Captain Beverley Bass in Broadway’s Come From Away, for which she received a Tony Award nomination and won Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. She most recently starred on Broadway as Carrie Chapman Catt in SUFFS.
Her additional Broadway credits include If/Then, Chaplin, High Fidelity and Urban Cowboy, with Off-Broadway appearances including Closer Than Ever and Take Flight. Her television credits include CBS’s Elsbeth, The Good Fight, Elementary, Feed the Beast, Rescue Me and All My Children.
In addition to performing, Jenn is a passionate educator and professor of acting at Columbia University, where she teaches Acting Through Song. She performs concerts and teaches master classes around the country.
