Marc Copland and William Lenihan

Pianist Marc Copland, guitarist William Lenihan are of the most evocative, captivating and harmonically profound duos in jazz and improvised music. Both well-known for their distinctive musical languages and virtuosic styles, together they bring decades of tradition and innovation to the concert stage, performing music both lyrical and adventurous.

New York-based Copland, now a living legend in the jazz world, a musician with an individuated pianistic voice, an artistry that embodies an inventive spirit and unparalleled musicality has collaborated with luminaries Gary Peacock, John Abercrombie, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman among many others.
Here, coupled with musical partner, Lenihan, a musician of a singular musical voice with a pianistic approach to the guitar, an artistry developed within jazz and contemporary classical music - this duo situates itself as an expressive powerhouse of improvisation and interpretation. Both long-time performers on the international scene, they present their collective music - which includes the jazz standards - and their own compositions set in the light of an existentially charged romanticism, a modernism both warm and forward-looking.

They have performed together to sold-out audiences across Europe in major jazz festivals playing their special interpretation of song and improvisation. This is a special evening of music not to be missed - and an American premier performance.
