Delivering a refreshing reinvention of forgotten sounds with their own takes on grassroots, Mama Said String Band has made a notable impact on the Bluegrass scene since their debut. Having grown a large fan base and taken down multiple awards in their home state of Kentucky, they are growing their imprint nationwide. Based out of Louisville, they are a four-piece collection of songwriters and players: David O’Neal, Katie “Didit” Caudill, Kaitlen Farmer, and Kris Potts. Each member brings a unique perspective with backgrounds spanning multiple cultures, genres, and styles. They are direct heirs to the enormously rich Kentucky Bluegrass and Folk traditions. While laying down lush vocal harmonies coupled with contemporary instrumentation, they build harmonious, physical rhythms and smart lyric making.
